Division Directors have the privilege of selecting deserving candidates for this esteemed recognition on a seasonal basis. Players who receive this award are granted the privilege of proudly displaying the revered Nationals FFC logo embellished with a golden halo on their game jersey, symbolizing their exceptional accomplishments and status within the sports community.

This award was created to honor Dawn Simpson, whose vision for youth sports is the foundation that Nationals FFC is based on.
Dawn spent her youth excelling in sports. She attended college where she transitioned from athlete to supporter – becoming a most passionate fan of all sports. As a young mom, she supported her two sons throughout their sports careers, taking on the roles of Team Mom, Team Manager, Assistant Coach, and even Coach when she saw the need. It was that need that inspired Dawn to create her business, a professional youth sports management company. She recognized the demand for better managed youth athletic events, and together with her partner, created a formula for success. Together they built some of the most successful youth sports events in Texas and created a safe, fun, well-organized space for youth to enjoy their sport.
To say that Dawn embodied sports would be most accurate. She was an athlete, the symbol of good sportsmanship, believed in teamwork, and lived for the spirit of competition. Her successes can be attributed to her leadership, vision, strength, perseverance, hard work, wisdom, prudence, and above all humor.
Dawn Simpson was a respected and admired leader, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Unfortunately, she tragically lost her battle with Covid-19 in 2021. Her presence is deeply missed and her legacy lives on.
